AQUATIC
COSMOS
|
The
inspiration for Aquatic Cosmos is the motion of
nocturnal marine
creatures whose movement excites
phosphorescent plankton to emit a soft
sparkling light.
Aquatic Cosmos installations are comprised of up to
60
hand-sculpted solid forms produced using molten glass
with dichroic
injections.
The
installation at Albright
College (Reading, PA)
measures nearly 18 feet
high and is suspended by
aircraft cable from a metal frame crafted at
Taylor Backes.
Other versions have been installed at
Philadelphia
(PA)
City Hall and
exhibited at Philadelphia’s Snyderman Gallery
and at
Somerhill Gallery in Durham, N.C.
